March 2008---Emmie stops breathing 3 times in the middle of the night while she is sleeping with the Joj (my mom) and the Joj calmly tells me the next day that she got her breathing again and it was "a little weird" so maybe we should let the doctor know.
March 2008, again---Emmie is in the hospital, the Joj is watching her, and watches her oxygen saturation steadly drop to 51. (that's really low, in case you were wondering) She gets the nurse, and the nurse kind of starts to panic before everyone realizes that Emily's cannula has come unplugged from the oxygen coming out of the wall, therefore she wasn't getting any oxygen. When Emily is doing ok the joj calmly asks the nurse to teach her what to do in this situation because "one day we're going to be at home and this is going to happen and I am going to need to know what to do!" So the nurse teaches her.
October 2008---Emily falls off her pack and play because her idiot mother leaves her sitting on the changing table and said mother then proceeds to have a total and complete freak out session and has to be calmed by her parents that live upstairs. Awesome.
Today 2009---Emily is hanging out, sewing with Grammie Jojo, and decides to eat paper. She chokes on said paper, which means that Grammie has to calmly give her back blows to get the paper out and get her to breathe again.
Now here's the point. Anyone notice any trend here??? I do! The Grammie is calm, and the mother is a total freak in these situations. So I'm thinking about when we move....and I'm thinking maybe you should pray for my sweet little baby, and maybe her mother, too!

So can anyone please validate my craziness and please tell me that you, or your mom, sister, aunt, yadda yadda was sometimes a paranoid crazy mom too?? (Tam, you already validate me all the time when I think of the "uh, ma'm?? You lost your baby." story. thanks!:))

Eh. By the time the next baby gets here, you'll be fine and pro and calm! It grows with each child!
Oh, and the trend I noticed is that Grammy is always babysitting! :) (Just trying to give you a hard time!) :)
I have one aunt that was fairly paranoid, especially about germs. Now she has 5 little boys and she is totally laid back and the boys do many things without her approval. However, my uncle still teases her about her year supply of Lysol. lol.
The trend I noticed: The Joj is involved in each of these scary moments. Maybe she is trying to sabatoge Emily...?
Joj-don't take that wrong, we love you and think you are the best!
No kids yet here so i can't make you feel better... but i can honestly say, that is one of the best pictures i have ever seen. You look beautiful and your baby is darling!
Sorry, can't help ya... I guess you're just crazy. :) Just kidding... I'm sure you'll be fine. Just wait, by the time I have kids you'll be a pro and I'll be calling you to get validation so I don't seem so crazy. :)
