an update

still pregnant! I go see Dr Scott today at 2pm because he is going out of town tomorrow for a week. Honestly, what doc thinks he can take a family vaca to San Diego?! :) I saw Dr Scott on Monday of this week too. I was dilated to a 1 1/2 and he stripped my membranes. He wanted to see me again today before he left, and said if by some small chance I'm at least a 4 today then he'll send me to the hospital to induce me. But if I'm not at least a 4 then no dice, since I'm not 39 weeks yet and really there's nothing wrong with me so he can't even make up a lame excuse as to why I need to have this kid. So he made me meet his partner (in case Dr Carn ends up delivering me while Dr Scott is at Sea World) on Monday, much to my dismay. He was really nice, but he's no Dr Scott. So please pray that I have this baby today or on Aug 14th when Dr Scott is back!

As for Emmie--- the other day she picked something up and clearly said, "I got it!" and then later she handed me her bowl and spoon and said, "All done." Wow! My baby girl is getting big! Some other words she says:
Daddy, Mommy, Darci, Toddy, Grandma, doggie, hi (over and over and over as you repeat it back to her :) ), binki, it's a doggie, and I can't think of any others.
She LoVeS books these days. She honestly never plays with any of her other toys--just brings me book after book to look through. Her Daddy and I love to read as well, so hopefully this continues as she gets older.
And the other night Tara and Jer were watching Emily while we went on a date. She wouldn't go to bed since she will only sleep in her own crib, so Jer worked with her for a long time, even sang to her (so cute!) and finally she went to sleep. But then he was out in his family room like 15 mins later and suddenly Emily comes running into the room with a HuGe smile on her face like she was so pleased with herself. and Jer was like "What the?!" so he went into the bedroom and saw that she had somehow collapsed one side of the pack and play and totally climbed out. And she knew what she had done too. So funny!

And just for kicks here's a pic of our little fam at the Orem Summerfest Parade. Emily loved loved the parade and wouldn't take her eyes off it the whole time....hence the non looking at the camera bit.

Having worked for both Docs, I think they are both great. Good luck, can't wait to hear more details.
