Some random stuff

--There's this new blog that my sister showed me called Knock Off Wood. It's pretty much amazing and Cory is going to build bunkbeds (and little book shelves to hang on the wall and a headboard for us and a new kitchen table and pretty much everything else on this website!) for the girls in a couple weeks and I'm totally stoked. I'll post pics when they are done. And check out Knock Off Wood. You won't be disappointed!
--The RS Pres in our ward is a professional stunt car driver. Like that's what she does for a living. She specializes in "Near misses" and just got done filming for NCIS and The Fast and the Furious #1 million. How freaking cool is that?? I love meeting all kinds of different folk in LA. It's awesome.
--We FINALLY have a doctor for the girls to go to!!!!!!! Halle freaking lujah! I took Emmie in last week and I wanted to cry I was so happy. I thought she had an ear infection so I called, and they got her in less than 2 hours later. And the wait once we got there was less than 15 mins. Dr Siefer was pretty much awesome, too. He reminded me of Dr Scott--sat down and chit chatted with me, was happy to answer all my questions, explained things really well, found a princess in Mommy's ear first and then found a princess in Emily's ear too (she was pretty much freaking out and wouldn't let him come near her. But the princess gig worked like a charm!) We even talked about Utah and how he loves to ski there and he said it really does have the greatest snow on earth. Yes! :) All in all, it was lovely. Clean, no wait, everyone spoke English, Dr Siefer does the on call thing, his clinic is open everyday, you get the idea. I'm so glad to know that good doctors exist outside of Dr Scott's office in Utah. This was really my only beef I still had about moving here and I'm so glad we have found a solution. Yay for us.
--I've decided I love to entertain. I'm not really sure how this happened, since my Mom can't stand it and therefore rarely hosts events. But I have a great time doing it. I try to invite friends over once a month for good food and a fun activity. This month we are dying Easter eggs and having homemade soft pretzels. Yum!
--Seriously, Beverly Hills has the best places to shop! I know, right? I thought I was crazy too. But it turns out that no one shops the sales there, because they all have more money than your dog. So I'm constantly finding kids jeans for $1.99 and shirts for .97 cents at Old Navy. I also shop at Marshall's, Ross (so NOT lame like they are in Utah) and H&M. H&M reminds me of J. Crew but cheaper. And they have a kids section. I find things for $3 there all the time. And they are darling, hip, very high quality stuff, so I'm fine paying $3 for a shirt. I have been finding Tara (sister) tons and tons of clothes for amazing prices. I had two full bags of stuff and her total was only $62. Smokin' deals, I'm telling you. Your welcome Phae! :)
--I flew to Idaho this weekend to surprise my sis in law Kimi for her bridal shower. My other sis in law Carissa was the only one that knew I was coming. We walked in and everyone pretty much about died. "What are you DOING here?!?!" haha! It was awesome. I love surprises, especially when they have zero inkling it's going to happen. The bridal shower was tons of fun and I'm so glad I didn't have to miss it. The ole husbando hung out with the kiddies, took them biking on the beach, played on the playground, did the laundry, cleaned the house spotless, and pretty much held down the fort while I was gone. I love that boy.
--I counted Emily's words the other day: 54 total, including spoken words, signs, and animal noises. I was a little worried about that since she's two, but Dr Siefer said he's ok with that amount for the moment. And it helps that she makes up her own signs for things, and she is adding about 2 words a month to her vocab. Slowly but surely....
--My parents were recently called on a mission to work in the Real Estate and Leasing Dept at the Church Office Building (COB). All us kids were really excited for my parents, and still are....kind of. :) But we keep joking that "this mission is going to be the death of me!" because my parents, especially my Mom, aren't ever around anymore! We didn't realize how much we still depended on her but now that she's not available for that random question or help or a quick babysitter or whatever we are really feeling it. I told her that I can barely handle this mission bit which means she can't ever die on me because I don't know what I would do then. But they are having a great time, learning a lot, and are enjoying being able to serve while still living at home.
I think that's all folks. :) Sorry about the all words, no pics post.

You're welcome for showing phae knock of wood so that she could show you! :) If I could only get my husband to leave your state and come to mine, we could build something. :)
