Tam flew in on Wednesday morning and we spent the day shopping at H&M. Suffice it to say that I'm really good at spending other people's money. But Tam looks hot in all her new outfits! Then we picked up the boys from school and work and went to eat at In N Out Burger for dinner.
We joined Tam and Scott in Disneyland for the afternoon/evening on Thurs, May 6th. But this wasn't just any ole Disneyland trip. This was a sans children Disneyland trip, which meant we got to ride the big kid rides, not have to stop to change diapers, and we got to stay until the park closed! It was totally awesome!
This was the first time I had hired a babysitter for my children, and I must say I was a little nervous. Scott's Aunt, who is in our ward here, recommended a 21 year old girl that is in our stake to babysit, since we have zero YW in our ward. She wasn't exactly what I pictured for a babysitter, but that's another story. Bottom line, my friend Anna took over babysitting after she got off work so my babies lived and we had a great time at Disneyland, even if Indiana Jones broke down right as we walked up to get in line. Blast!
On Friday, May 7th, Cory had to go to school again, so I took Tam and Scott around LA for the day. We went to the fashion district to buy Scott a suit, and Tam couldn't believe that I actually go there without Cory! haha! When in LA, do as the LA folk, I guess. Then we went to the farmer's market for lunch, followed by a walk around The Grove. Unfortunately we didn't spot any famous people this time. Oh well. We can just go to Costco for that! :) On Friday night we packed a picnic dinner and went to the beach to eat. It was a little windy, but still fun. Of course, Emily couldn't stand not getting in the water, so she somehow ended up running in the waves in just her diaper. awesome.
On Saturday, May 8th, we got up really early and headed to Solvang, CA, a little Danish town about 2 hours North of LA. Scott served his mission in Denmark so he really wanted to get some Danish pastries. It was so totally worth the drive!! Oh man, I'm pretty sure I've never tasted anything so heavenly. Scott said the pastry shop was pretty authentic too, which is great. Those Danish folk know how to make dessert! After gorging ourselves with pastry we walked around town for awhile, checking out their little shops and real thatched roofs. I hadn't seen a thatched roof in real life, so that was cool. Then we ate a lunch of Danish meatballs (not nearly as good as the pastry) and headed back home so Tam and Scott could catch their flight home.
It was such a fun weekend and we were so glad Tam was able to shell out her 6 children so she could come. (Thanks Miss Julie!) And the best part is, they are coming again in 2 weeks. Wahoo!

What fun! There is nothing better than spending time with sisters.
How have you not seen a thatched roof in your life before? You really did live a sheltered life didn't you(no pun intended, haha). Well what can I say...you are Tiffany. -Your favorite Bro-in-law!
