Normally I don't really get involved in politics too much, but seriously, this issue is worth talking about! I definitely don't agree with same-sex marriage being taught in public schools. This is so confusing to children, especially at such a young age. And I think that if you teach kids that same-sex marriage is ok, then homosexuality becomes a learned behavior, and isn't that many gay/lesbian's argument about the way they live? They didn't "choose" to live this way, but that they were "born" gay/lesbian? There is a huge difference in my adult child choosing to be gay/lesbian for whatever reason, and my young 5 year old child learning in school that same-sex marriage is normal and right. bah!! And even more, there is a good chance I will be living in CA when Emily starts kindergarten, and I don't know what I'm going to do if this is taught in her school. I do not want her little brain confused because she hears one thing at school and sees and hears the complete opposite at home. If Prop 8 doesn't get passed, we are really going to have to re-think the whole let's move to CA for PhD school idea. No wonder I was so nervous to bring a human into this world. And it's only going to be worse for my grandkids. Heaven help us all.
