a rant

I got this from Carrie's blog and just had to post about it. (Maybe I'm all excited about it because I've been chained to a pump for the last 7 months and I've wanted to poke my eyeballs out, even though I'm giving the milk to my own child.) Sick, sick, sick. The crazy PETA folk thought it was a good idea to write Ben & Jerry and ask them to use breast milk for their ice cream instead of cow's milk. Right. Apparently they are so worried about their cows getting hurt that they don't care about women becoming chained to pumps, or babies missing out on breast milk because their mom is too worried about making her ice cream cash. I'm pretty sure that mentality is twisted...and sick and wrong. And I love that their argument is "the breast is best!" -- seriously, come up with something better than that people. Here's the link to the news article. Unreal.

I was just talking to Kristen about that this morning - some people thought of some clever "names" for the flavor of the ice cream....like "Double 'D'elicious" "Mudder Udder Peanut Butter". Not bad eh??

OH MY GOSH!!! I still can't stop laughing! I can just hear your voice going off on this! Thanks for that!

My cousin had this thing called "My Breast Friend." Nope...not kidding. It was a pad that you wrapped around yourself as a support for the baby while you breast fed. The idea is genius...the name...not so much! Come on people!!!

So when I was talking to my roommates about this one of them said, "Actually, if you think about it, it makes more sense to drink human milk than cow's milk. It's just more natural." In other news, she's the one who joined Green Peace yesterday. (nope, not kidding). ;) Have a great week!!!

Oh, and by the way...Thanks for the message on my birthday! I'm still amazing at how good you are with b-days! We should chat some time...life in D.C. is awesome!!! I would love to hear how life is going for you guys!
