Turkey Weekend

We were so lucky to have the Jones clan make the 17 hour drive from Boise two years in a row so we could have them for Thanksgiving! In November 2010, everyone, including Grandpa and Grandma Jones (Cory's Grandparents) came to LA and we were so thrilled that they would make the long drive to us! Fortunately we had beautiful weather, the beach, and Disneyland on our side to convince them. :)
Jay and Tami rented a house "in the valley" about 25 minutes from our apartment so we could all stay together.  The Jones parents gave all their children tickets to Disneyland as an early Christmas gift, so on Thanksgiving Day 2010, we headed out to enjoy our day at the Happiest Place on Earth.  In true Jones fashion we were up with the sun, made it to Disneyland before the park opened, and stayed all. day. long until closing time.  We used Ridemax.com to help us plan our adventure, and that really helped keep us on schedule. We hit every ride on everyone's list, which was quite the feat.  We also rode in smaller groups so people could watch the little babies, and that worked awesome.  It was so fun for Cory and me to actually ride some big kid rides!

I don't love roller coasters, so when some of the group rode Hollywood Tower of Terror, I opted out. After riding it once, Cory and Justin decided that I really maybe would like this ride (Been there, done that! Hated it, thanks!) and literally pushed me onto the ride, kicking and screaming.  After the first drop Cory saw my face, realized I was quite serious about getting sick on roller coasters, and spent the rest of the ride coaching me through it, all while apologizing. I was lucky to not faint and/or vomit.  Bless everyone's heart no one said a word about the whole thing, and never mocked me even for a second.  And Cory promised to never make me ride another roller coaster ever again. :)

Tami Jones and Kimi slaved over "Wendy Rolls" the night before Disneyland, so we had awesome turkey sandwiches on Wendy Rolls for lunch and were all in hog heaven. Yum!  We also got to watch The World of Color show, which was a fave. I love that show! Overall it was a lovely, very tiring day. Thanks for the tickets, Jay and Tami!

I didn't even get any pictures of the rest of the weekend, but we ate Thanksgiving Dinner on Black Friday, then lounged around, ate leftovers, and played games.  On Saturday morning Jamie and Great G&G Jones watched the babies while the rest of us did sealings in the LA Temple.  It was really nice to be together as a family, all doing work for the dead.  Sarah fainted and had us worried for a little minute, but she was okay after awhile and the Sealer made us switch after every name after that. :)
Jay, Tami, Jamie, and G&G Jones headed home on Saturday afternoon, which meant we married kids partied it up at the house one last night with no parents! Wahoo!  We hung out in the hot tub, played games, and enjoyed each other's company.
The weekend went by way too fast, but we were so glad to be together, even for a short time.  Thanks for coming everyone!
